Richard Halliday

Since the book was published some further information and photographs of Richard Halliday have emerged. Richard had emigrated to Canada in the pre-war years and settled in Winnipeg. He served with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force. Richard survived the war years and returned to his new life in Winnipeg. Several other members of the Halliday family joined him in Canada. The group photo from the 1920s shows Richard in the centre with his sister Susan beside him. Later in life Richard married his wife Eliza. In the 1970s Richard and Eliza came back to Northern Ireland and they lived for about a year in Belfast. They later returned to Canada and Richard died there in 1986, age 94.
