English Class Graduates

The Mall Presbyterian Church has again hosted another year of English classes for speakers of other languages.   Demand this year was high and 25 students were ably taught by Mr Alan Sneddon of the Southern Regional College.  Alan’s teaching was supplemented by volunteers from the Mall Presbyterian Church who willingly befriended and encouraged students, particularly in conversation.

The students are all living and working in the Armagh area but originally come from Poland, Lithuania, Hungary and Bulgaria.

A Graduation party was enjoyed by students and volunteers on 20th June where 18 students were presented with a certificate of attendance and a copy of the Bible in their own language.

In September 2011 we plan to begin a further year of English language study for speakers of other languages.   For the first time we are delighted to offer free childcare for children of students who attend class.  Activities for children will include games, craft, free play, music, singing, board games, a snack, stories, and a homework club for older children.   The crèche / children’s club will be staffed by volunteers from the Mall Presbyterian Church.
