Week No.3-19th August

This Sunday 19th August we continue our covenant series by reflecting on The Ulster Solemn League and Covenant 1912 in this its centenary year. In 1912 there was great unity between the Presbyterians and the Church of Ireland regarding the importance and the signing of the Covenant with many churches being used as venues for signing the covenant following religious services. We will take the opportunity to look at the wording of the document, how it compares with God’s covenants in Scripture and the lessons we can learn for today. This covenant was supported by almost half a million people and yet became a broken covenant. In looking at the covenants made by God we will see how totally dependable God is in keeping His promises with mankind while men and women are so undependable. This is an opportunity to view the Covenant of 1912 from a biblical perspective.
